Information, Ordering and Miscellaneous

Beaver Island Jewelry creates distinctive lampwork glass beads and jewelry.    If you are looking for inexpensive, ordinary jewelry, then this is not the place for you–Beaver Island Jewelry is the place to find beads or jewelry that you will not see on other people.  Nancy Peterson is the owner and artisan creating flameworked glass beads.

Most of my selling is on Beaver Island during the summer at the Beaver Island Art Gallery or at Art in the Harbor, in front of the Community Center.  I also sell on ETSY and privately.  There is a secure shopping cart on this web site ready to take your order with Discover, Visa, Master Card, American Express through Paypal.  As these items are one-of-a-kind;  there is usually only one item available in the shopping cart unless otherwise noted.    If you have any questions or would like to see other items please let Nancy know as these pages show only a sample.  Please note that in the summer I am on Beaver Island and I take the cart off  my web site.

Home parties available – the hostess can get free jewelry for yourself or your favorite charity!  Please see the Home Party  page.

Contact & Shipping stuff:

Contact me via email or use the handy shopping cart.  You do not need to be a Paypal subscriber to use your credit card.   Through Paypal, I take Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express!  As noted above, most of my sales are through my ETSY shop (BrownDogGlassBeads).  If you call or email I can also take Visa, Mastercard and Discover, through Square.

If you do not want to use the PayPal cart, please email  or call me (734.665.0019–Ann Arbor or seasonally 231.448.2205 on Beaver Island.  This is Eastern Daylight Time so be considerate with calling times) with item name and price.

In the summer months I take off the shopping cart as I’m busy making jewelry on Beaver Island.

Mailing and handling fee via USPS Priority Mail is $5.50 for weights under 2 pounds or about $3 regular first class mail.

If you would like some other means of shipping, please let me know.  I usually just ship via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) first class as that works just fine.   Michigan residents–sorry but I have to charge 6% state tax (the tax accountant gets grumpy if I don’t).

If you need something shipped internationally, please email me first with your address, phone number, email and I will check the shipping rate and get back to you.  Please remember that I only show a small portion  here so if you are interested in something let me know and I can send you a photo.  Email address is (take out “nospam” word):

Ann Arbor/SE Michigan area folks are welcome to call, set up a time and come see the jewelry in person or pick up your order so you don’t pay shipping costs.

Contact information including email address, telephone number, address, etc. which is provided by the user is used solely for completing the order.  This includes information pertaining to gift recipients.  We do not use this information to compile a mailing list nor do we sell the information.  Once your order is shipped, your order information is securely filed for tax return purposes and shredded after three years.

Gift packaging available.

Returns and the small print:  Please let me know within 10 days of receipt of the item that you plan to return it or would like another item.  Your satisfaction with my torched glass beads and jewelry is important to me.  Remember that these items are glass and cannot be banged around or dropped on cement or ceramic floors or they could break, just as any glass item may!    You may exchange for something else or I will return your money (minus shipping postage) if the item is unsatisfactory but please let me know within 10 days of receipt of the item.  All sales will be considered final after 10 days.  My beads are all kiln annealed but unusual use of the beads or dropping on hard floors is not good for glass items!  I strive to make you happy with your one of a kind jewelry or beads!

Wholesale policy.  We require tax ID and proof of business showing evidence that you are a reseller.  Purchase $400 worth of lampwork beads and you will receive a 40% discount.  $200 for 20% discount.

Rings:  In case you forget how to change out the interchangeable beads in the rings that I sell please see here.
