GLASS IN THE GARDEN – Art in Ann Arbor, MI

GLASS IN THE GARDEN 2016 IS BEING HELD:  Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 1 until 4 p.m.  Address is 3337 Woodlea which is between Wagner Road and Parkridge Road on the West side of Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Link is for map.

This event is hosted by my friend and neighbor Becki Spangler and showcases handmade glass beaded jewelry and other items from Beaver Island Jewelry.  There are the usual earrings, necklaces, bracelets, zipper pulls but also prisms, appetizer knives, stylus, olive spoons, finials, bottle stoppers,  glass buttons.  And even a couple new glass bead ibots!  Some examples of the beaded items are shown above.

My beads are created with a gas torch where I melt Italian glass into shapes, then the glass bead goes into a digital kiln for 8 hours so it can properly anneal the glass (harden).  When it comes out of the kiln the process continues with cleaning the beads and creating the jewelry or whatever else I am making.  My co-worker is my dog!

You are invited to attend Glass in the Garden 2016.  No pressure to buy anything but take a look.
