The Three Graces are charm, beauty and creativity. They can be seen in the Botticellis (paintings) at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. I kind of like these three ladies! No photos in the Uffizi so no photos of that for my blog. We were there a couple hours to check out the greatest collection of Italian paintings to be found anywhere. We saw Leonardo, Raphael, Caravaggio, titian and Michelangelo, to name a few.
We did as Rick Steve’s mentioned and that was reserving a ticket beforehand so we went to Door #3 with our reservation number then basically waltzed in Door #1. The extra charge for reservations is 4 euros which may save you hours standing in line.
The yellow electric car in the photo is a postman here in Florence!
And a great shot of the Duomo and Bapistry.
The view of Ponte Vechio is from the Uffizi. Originally this was butcher shops where they could easily drop the remains into the River Arno. Then the Medici came along and the bridge was turned into elegant gold and silver shops which remain to this day.
We had a lovely breakfast on the roof of our hotel. You can see the red roof tiles. And the last photo shows the Pitti Palace in the background where we are headed today. This is a palace with paintings and rooms showing what it was like to live as a royal in the 18 th and 19 th centuries.
