Lampwork Bead Classes by Nancy Peterson - Beaver Island JewelryAnn Arbor or Beaver Island (seasonally) Interested in how to make lampwork beads yourself? I take appointments to teach a four hour beginner class (soft glass) on a one-on-one basis for $165, supplies included. If you would like a shorter class please ask and we'll arrange something, pro-rated cost. All beads that you make and that I make for demonstration purposes will be yours after they are annealed. You can take a class at my Ann Arbor Studio OR Beaver Island Studio. I am at my Beaver Island studio seasonally (June - September). Please email or call me (AA 734.665.0019 or BI 231.448.2205) to discuss availability.
And for $15 extra if you take my class you can get this great beginner's book on: Making Glass Beads by Cindy Jenkins. This is one of the best beginner books that I have found, at a reasonable price. I will also suggest other sources at your class. You will also receive my class notes and references for further glassmaking information.
Making Glass Beads by Cindy Jenkins: Beads that are multicolored, grooved, feathered or foiled, and decorated with spots, dots, eyes, and stripes: no matter which of these designs in glass you choose, the results will be beautiful. I have been making beads for ten years, learning from some of the best lampwork artists in the country and world. My first two classes were with Mari Johnson. Mari got me started on this fascinating journey; other classes were from Patti Walton, Sharon Peters, Stevi Belle, Ginny Syuroco and Andrea Guarino. Metalwork classes from Kate McKinnon, Anne Mitchel, Kris Silva and Janice Berkibile. And in April 2008 I took a six day class with master glassmaker, Lucio Bubbaco in Murano, Italy. In 2009 I took a hollow beadmaking class with Sylvus Tarn who I consider one of the best hollow beadmakers in the country. Please see more on the About the Artist page.
Remember, if you are interested in a "Home Party" please let me know. Lots of fun! Invite your friends and co-workers over for coffee/drinks and look at jewelry. You will receive jewelry of your choice or a percentage off your favorite pieces. The jewelry shown on this web site is only a fraction of what I have available - as folks will tell you if they have seen my table at shows!
